"My idea for Opera Explained began after realising from friends and family that sometimes, Opera can just be a little too much to understand! With dramatic and complicated plots, disguises, love, tragedy and long running times, it is understandable that an audience can get confused.

Opera plots are not dissimilar to Soap Operas.  However we are faced with layers of confusion, particularly in that a lot of the more popular Operas are sung in a different language.

At Opera Explained: the audience are able to sit (with a drink if preferred! It is Opera after all) and watch the story performed in bite size chunks and given the opportunity to delve into the characters stories.

This is not a lecture! It is a concert with an easy spoken narrative throughout and hopefully you will walk away with a better understanding of listening to Opera."
